April 2, 2026 • Maundy Thursday Tenebrae Service • The Solemn Shadows

Our Maundy Thursday service is inspired by the medieval practice of Tenebrae, a Latin term for “darkness” referring to an ancient Christian tradition of gradually extinguishing candles to symbolize the coming darkness of Jesus’ death. It has long been a tradition for the combined choirs of Puyallup UMC and Puyallup First Presbyterian to present this music. Enjoy this beautiful Lenten worship experience
