What is your worship service like?
We have two Sunday morning services. In both services, the pastor will offer a lesson (sermon) based on a text from the Bible and her reflections on current events. Depending on the service, we will sing either traditional hymns or more contemporary pieces of music.
Will I have to say anything, sign anything?
While you will be greeted and welcomed, you won’t be put on the spot or publicly embarrassed. You may be given a connection sheet where you can give us as much or as little information as you’d like.
What should I wear?
We invite you to come as you are whether you are visiting for the first time or for the hundredth. Casual or more formal: you decide. We want you to feel at home!
Are your Facilities Handicapped Accessible?
Yes! The entire church is one level and our restrooms are accessible to all.
Am I going to be expected to give money?
Absolutely not! We all give in a variety of way some through our prayers, presence, gifts, service or witness. During each service there is a time to worship God through the giving of tithes and offerings. This is an act of worship for our members and friends, allowing them to share in the church's ministry to the community of Puyallup and to the world. As a guest, please do not feel any pressure or obligation to give.
Can I participate in Communion?
If you happen to join us on a Sunday when we are participating in communion, know that at Puyallup UMC, communion is open to all who want to take part! Feel free to file out with the others in your pew toward the center aisle, receive the bread and grape juice, and consume it as you take the side aisle back to your seat.
