Living the Questions will be at 10:35 starting Oct. 3 in Room 4 of the Education Wing. It will be a discussion class based on a short (10-20 minute) video presentation. You do not need to attend every week, but that would be best to follow the material. There are 21 video segments and we may move through the material more slowly than one segment per class session. The class will be facilitated by Leon Leonard and Shirley Cox.
The class will focus on the journey of Christianity. It will be based on the process of seeking answers among the many perspectives of Christianity in the marketplace today. The class hopes to expose us to the ideas and concepts that have been discussed in seminaries but aren’t often taught in churches. The presenters in the video are noted progressives in the church—John Bell, Marcus Borg, Walter Brueggeman, John Cobb, John Dominic Crossan, James Forbes, Matthew Fox, Rebecca Ann Parker, Stephen Patterson, Tex Sample, John Shelby Spong, and Mel White, among others.
Living the Questions seeks to be a resource for people who are in the midst of a life-long conversation about the mysteries of faith and life—“moving on toward perfection“ in the words of John Wesley. Please consider participating as part of your journey of faith.
